Team:
Evan Arnold (Sophomore)
- Evan Arnold will be one of our future engineers. He is currently learning how to machine parts on our lathe. In his free time, he works with the Jesuit Science Olympiad team, and fences.
E.J. Borg (Senior)
- E.J. Borg is managing the business aspect of the team. Outside of robotics EJ enjoys working in the Jesuit Drama department and riding his motorcycle.
Phillip Coyle (Junior)
- Phillip Coyle works on the engineering side of Jesuit Robotics, and is learning the ropes of motor, arm, and frame design with the guidance of more experienced members on the team. By day, Phillip pursues his aeronautical obsession by building and flying remote controlled airplanes; by night, he tackles the fun, yet challenging aspects of programming and graphic design.
Chris Eur (Junior)
- Chris Eur is heading up our design department. He makes sure our robot looks as good on paper as it does in real life. In his free time, he competes in math competition, and beatboxes.
Michael Desmond (Freshman)
- Michael Desmond is currently a mission / props engineer on the team. In his spare time, Michael enjoys hanging out with friends and playing golf and video games. He enjoys working on the team, and also works on engineering outside of robotics.
Brian Grau (Junior)
- Brian Grau is the team’s head CAD designer, as well as one of the builders. He is responsible for designing the ROV in Solidworks and then building everything correctly. Outside of robotics he is the Senior Patrol Leader of his Boy Scout troop, an active member of a High Adventure Crew, and participates in the schools Science Olympiad team.
Joe Griffin (Sophomore)
- Joe Griffin is helping lead the design and build of our secondary robot this year. In addition, he is great with helping train our new members in the basics of engineering. In his free time, he enjoys taking apart electronics and working security for his dad’s company.
Chris Konstad (Freshman)
- A first year member, Chris Konstad has taken great interest in the electronics and programming of the robot. Chris is always ready to learn, and is willing to take on any task given to him.
Steven Larsen (Senior)
- A veteran on the team, Steven Larsen is heading up the engineering department this year. Steven loves to ride and compete in cycling competitions.
Chris Lloyd (Sophomore)
- Chris Lloyd is the team’s mailing list coordinator and assistant in media production. He assists in PR designs, website maintenance, as well as assembly of the ROV. Chris enjoys graphic design, web coding, and snowboarding in his spare time.
Greg Marchese (Sophomore)
- Greg Marchese is the team webmaster, and head of public relations. He is responsible for managing the website, and coordinating our various events. He enjoys building and programming electronics, and works as a sound engineer for Jesuit Drama.
Drake Nylund (Freshman)
- Drake Nylund is a first year member and is interested in engineering the robot. He currently helps with building the props, but is learning the basics on engineering the robot. Outside of robotics, Drake enjoys to golf and hang out with friends.
Andrew Patel (Senior)
- Andrew Patel is helping lead the business aspect of the team; he also will help design and present our technical presentation.
Cody Price (Freshman)
- Cody Price is quickly learning the engineering and design of the robot. He is working with the secondary robot team to design an assistant robot for one of our competitions. In addition, Cody is responsible for keeping records on ROV statistics.
Will Sitzenstatter (Senior)
- Will Sitzenstatter is leading the mission / props department. A vital position, Will makes sure that we are in compliance with the game rules, and that our test field is built to mission specs.
Louis Styer (Freshman)
- Louis Styer is new to Jesuit Robotics, as a rookie freshman. He is enjoying his time with the team. He is working in mission props, and is teaching himself how to program in C#. When he is not working in the lab, he is either doing homework, avoiding doing homework, hanging out with friends or playing at home.
John Taseff (Senior)
- John Taseff, the team’s co-captain, is in charge of programming and electronics. He is responsible for managing the brains of the robot, in addition to various construction and machining projects. He plans to study engineering in college next year, and enjoys skiing in his free time.
Jared Wilson (Junior)
- Jared Wilson is a first year member of Jesuit Robotics. He is learning how to work many of the engineering tools as well as how to use SolidWorks to CAD the robot parts. In his free time, he is an active member of his Boy Scout troop.
Matt Yang (Junior)
- His first year on the team, Matt Yang is learning the CAD aspect of the robot. Matt also assists with the build of the robot, a very important task.
Mentors:
Jay Isaacs:
- A network engineer that has been with the team for 5 years, Jay joking calls himself “MacGyver.” The reality is that he is a huge contributor to the team, working long hours on teaching and answering all (and there are many) questions we may have.
Jerry Glasser:
- Jerry Glasser has been heading up robotics teams in the Sacramento area for 9 years, 2 years at St. Francis High School and is now in his 7th year at Jesuit High School. Glasser is known for his memorable quotes, sense of humor, and commitment to academic and co-curricular excellence. Jerry is a Physics Instructor at Jesuit High School, and a big contributor to the team.
Jared Woolston:
- A new mentor to our team, Jared Woolston is very knowledgable in both the engineering and the programming of the robot. He spends many long hours helping teach members how to properly code and build our machine.
